Mr. Hakeem Olaogun Dickson; Former Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission

For his Secondary education, he attended Victory High School, Ikeja and obtained his West African School Certificate in 1976. On completion of his National Youth Service program which he did at Nigerian Airways between 1984 and 1985, Mr. Hakeem Olaogun Dickson started his career at Coopers and Lybrand CPA, Newark, New Jersey between 1988 and 1994.
Mr. Hakeem Olaogun Dickson, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Thomas A. Edison State College, Trenton, New Jersey U.S.A and two Masters Degrees in Business Administration specializing in Accounting and Finance respectively, both from the Fairleight Dickinson University, Rutherford, New Jersey, U.S.A in 1983 and 1985.
He was an internal Auditor at the now defunct Nigeria Airways before his overseas experience as Staff Accountant/External Auditor/ Tax Adviser at the Coopers and Lybrand CPA, Newark, New Jersey U.S.A.
He then returned to the Nigeria to contest and won an election as the Executive Chairman of the Surulere Local Government in 1998.He is currently the C.E.O of Citiwide Construction and Transport Nigeria Limited which specializes in the construction of roads and buildings.
Mr. Hakeem Olaogun Dickson is a seasoned administrator and politician with good managerial skills and has contributed his quota at various times to the development of Lagos State.
He firmly holds the view that predestination could only be an appropriate success recipes if it’s matched with hard work,perseverance, great vision, dedication, and unalloyed commitment to excellence.

Mr Jide King; HSE Manager, BAT
Jide joined BATN in November 2000 as a Shipping/Supply Supervisor in charge of import and export (processing and local procurement). He transited into BAT from Nigerian Tobacco Company Limited after the buy over in 2000.
He was Facilities Manager, BAT Head Office Lagos (and subsequently Ibadan factory). He is currently the Operations Environmental Health & Safety Manager for West Africa.
Jide is the current Vice President of National Industrial Safety Council of Nigerian.
He’s a qualified Facilities Management Professional (FMP) (International Facilities Management Association), member of Institute of Safety Professional of Nigeria, and an ISO 14001-2015 (Environmental Management System) Auditor.
Jide King holds an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration from Kaduna State Polytechnic and International General Certificate – National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health.

I am an ISO lead auditor, trainer, assessor, verifier, project manager, mentor, coach & safety entrepreneur.
As part of my professional and competence development, and in addition to a master’s degree in environmental management and post graduate certificate in Industrial Hygiene management from Columbia Southern University; I am also an alumnus of Harvard School of Public Health USA; London School of Business Finance UK and Lagos Business School, Nigeria, and lots more.
Professionally, I have certifications in occupational health, safety and environmental management. I am a member of many internationally recognised HSE training and technical bodies. In addition to this, I am a certified and approved instructor and train-the-trainer for many international safety and health awarding bodies.
I am the CEO of Hybrid Group Limited, a one-stop shop for safety and allied services, with five independent but service-related companies operating across Nigeria, Ghana, UK and the US. We are also the owner of DGM franchises in Ghana and Nigeria, which is involved in the safe transportation of dangerous goods through the air, sea and road.
I am the national coordinator of Safety Advocacy & Empowerment Foundation (SAEF), a registered NGO in Nigeria, promoting safety advocacy and awareness in the country and beyond. I also serve in executive capacities in many safety professional bodies in Nigeria.

Engr. Akaninyene Edet Ekong; National Vice Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers
Engr. Akaninyene Edet Ekong completed his primary school education at the Nigerian Navy Primary School, Ikot Ansa, Calabar, Cross River State, and he had his secondary school education at Lutheran High School, Obot Idimin Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, Akwa Ibom State and Jubilee College, Okokomaiko, in Lagos State. He attended the University of Uyo where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering. He also has certificates from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, and Master of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
He started his career with Tafdev Construction Limited as an assistant safety officer in Lagos State. He has worked with Tomsey Engineering and Services International Limited as a HSE / process safety engineer and trainer, where he developed his skills in HAZOP, safety audits, risk assessments, case studies, marine safety, fire safety, etc.
He has 14 International and local safety certifications to his credit, including the NEBOSH Diploma, the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety(IGC), Chartered Institute of Environmental Health(UK), Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA-USA), International Institute for Risk and Safety Managers(IIRSM), Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (now ISPON), etc.

He is currently the National Vice Chairman and Pioneer Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers. He is the recipient of the Safety Leadership Award by the Lagos State Safety Commission in 2018.

Dr Bara Kabaka Brown holds a Masters’ Degree (MSc) and Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Occupational Safety and Health Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok, Kedah, Malaysia. He also holds Bachelor’s in Business Education Accountancy Option from Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Port Harcourt. Certificate in Health Economics from World Bank Institute New York.
He was a Community Affairs Coordinator/Community Projects Inspector at ExxonMobil (Oil & Gas Company) – Public and Government Affairs Unit. He was head, Administration/ Operations, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation at Ibani-Se Initiative, Bonny Island, Rivers State (NLNG, SPDC & MPN sponsored Project for Bonny Kingdom).
